hey look it's spoon, everyone! {November 5, 2009}

The music blogosphere nuzzled my neck and cooed this week: Spoon's new album, Transference, drops on January 26, 2010. Stereogum posted three live tracks a few days ago, and their new tune "Mystery Zone" leaked onto We All Want Someone to Shout For and Pop Tarts Suck Toasted this week. The sites have taken the mp3s down, but hey look, you can still listen to "Mystery Zone" on The Hype Machine! I like the new tune and can't wait for more.

Ok, I must wrap this up and leave out the gossamer details of my day since I'm off to get a beverage or two with my friend, Ryan. We've been pals for over 8 months and he has no idea that I call him Captain America when he's not in my presence. It's the perfect term of endearment for him: He's 6'4, blue-eyed, runs marathons, went to Harvard, plays basketball, and loves scrabble. But what I really like about him? He has a nice soul, a quiet polish, possesses an earnest ear for great music, laughs easily & likes to clink beer glasses with me.

Yup, he's a keeper-friend. He's Captain America!!!!
