I know, I know, I've been quiet. As previously mentioned, my blog, my music reader, and my twitter feed are having a family row—yet the cold silence isn't permanent. I want to wish everyone a happy weekend before I tidy up, slip on my hooded coat, and rush out the door to grab drinks with a friend. (yes, yes, Monk's Kettle again, I cannot get enough.) Afterward, I think I am going to empty my pockets at my favorite fabric shop in the Sunset and walk along Ocean Beach—camera and earbuds in tow.
Saturday, luxurious simplicity...
In other happenings, Malcolm Middleton has a new song which I plan to highlight tomorrow. In the meantime, enjoy these fantastic tunes, which kicked off a memorable morning for me. Map's 2007 release, We Can Create, is grossly under-appreciated. I just checked on the band (which is really a handle for James Chapman) and a new album is forthcoming this year—huzzah! The second track, "The Rip," comes from Portishead's Third—which accompanied this morning's sleepy, soft haze. Fantastic.
