I have very strong opinions about letter spacing. These kern jackets are beloved garments of mine. (though I've yet to run into anyone who "gets" them!)
I'm gearing up to see Fujiya & Miyagi at The Independent this evening (wrapped up in my kern jacket)! Will it be the best show of the year? Of the month, even? Very, very doubtful, yet I expect to participate in lots of toe-tappin' and ideally a little dancing between the more mellow tunes. Lord, I need a release. My hopeful groove-out session deserves a preparatory playlist studded with a few throw-back tracks. So here ya go:
Ankle Injuries (Adam Freeland E-Drone Remix) - Fujiya & Miyagi (& A. Freeland)
Vanished - Crystal Castles
Pogo - Digitalism (Shinichi Osawa Remix)
We Share Our Mother's Health (Ratatat Remix) - The Knife (& Ratatat)
Dishwasher - Fujiya & Miyagi
Best Boy Electric - Montag
Faking the Books - Lali Puna
Here Come the Warm Jets - Brian Eno
Ankle Injuries - Fujiya & Miyagi

"Faking The Books" by Lali Puna is one of my all-time favorite songs EVER :)

Kelly:
I know, I love it! I found it a couple of years ago through Ben Gibbard's "Celebrity Playlist" on itunes. I think I discovered Malcolm Middleton through that playlist as well... he has great taste.
Roger:
& they are so cute and spendy.

While I was waiting in line for my ticket at The Independent that night, the following conversation occurred:
Strangerdanger guy: "I like your jacket."
Me: "Thanks."
Strangerdanger guy: "Are you from Kern county?"
Me: "No."
Strangerdanger guy: "Is your name Kern?"
Me: "No."
Strangerdanger guy: "But you aren't from Kern county?"
Me: "....."

Being named Kern and originating from Kern county are not mutually exclusive, apparently.

I am pleased to say it is interesting that this blog has a great variety of viewpoints to better understand the situation and that is what most caught my attention and has a great variety of comments
